Tips for taking your baby to Disney World

Whether you have a new born and you are venturing out on your first vacation with the little one, or you have several kiddos and just want to make sure you are prepared, there are plenty of things to consider before heading into one of Disney Worlds 4 theme parks. I have been going to Disney […]

Easy Monkey Bread

I didn’t realize that this was an “easy” monkey bread recipe until I started reading other recipes and sow how involved they were. This takes me about 10-12 minutes from the fridge into the oven and is DELICIOUS! I made this last minutes this week to take to a bible study. I generally do not have any self-control when it comes to monkey bread so I always make sure to take it where I can share it and not bring it back home with me. 😉
2 large cans of refrigerated flakey biscuits (16oz)
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cups of butter (1 and a half sticks)
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Smoked Fish Dip

I had never tried smoked fish dip until I started dating Tavis.  I found out early on, he impulsively orders any fish dip he sees, on his self proclaimed pilgrimage.  His goal is to talk the chef out of the recipe and create his own ultimate fish dip. When I would see fish dip on […]

How to come home from traveling with your sanity intact

There are a lot of tips out there about how to plan a vacation and how to make your vacation great, yet most people tend to forget to plan to come home from a vacation. Since we live in Puerto Rico, and our family is all in Florida, we travel home as much as possible to […]

Easy Cheesy Chicken and Salsa Dinner

A friend of mine, Angela, passed this recipe on to me a few months back and I have fallen in love with how easy it is to make and how delicious the leftovers heat up! The first time that I made it I was a little skeptical so I only made it in a small baking […]

My Quirky Historic Home

I have always wanted to live in an old, historic house. One that we could fix up and restore, maybe a little farm house like the folks on Little House Living restored. I never dreamed that my little piece of history that I would  live in would be a World War II bomb shelter (literally) on […]

Easy Re-Baked Potatoes, Great for the Freezer

One of my very favorite side dishes since I was little has been re-baked potatoes. Not the ones that you get in the freezer section at the grocery store or even the ones from a good steakhouse, but the ones that I used to help my mom and sisters make when we were growing up. For some reason […]

His first home was an Airstream

I never imagined it this way. I never sat there dreaming about having a baby of my own one day and bringing him home to an Airstream. I usually pictured a meticulously decorated nursery that I had fussed over for the past 9 months until it was perfect. His name was on the wall in […]

Easy Marinades for steak, kabobs and other grilled beef

We love to travel, and with that travel we get to eat… a lot… I’m not sure about you, but some of my strongest memories are  associated with smells or tastes. I will smell plumeria lotion and be taken back to a trip I took to Peru, when I was in high school, and I […]

Airstream Dreamin’

So when I first met my husband, Tavis, he mentioned a few times in the course of our conversations, that he really liked Airstream travel trailers… a lot. So much, in fact, that he had lived in one full time for several years when he was active duty in the military. To his credit, his parents […]

The Best Pound Cake EVER!!!

So this is by far the BEST pound cake that you will ever have… I have no idea of the origins of this recipe except to say that it came from my great-grandmother and she was a southern woman who knew her cooking!! The pound cake got its origins when people did not write down […]

Pacific Rim Salmon

I am SOOO boring when it comes to cooking. I love to cook, but I always have this thing in the back of my mind that I don’t want to put effort into a recipe only to find out that Tavis or I do not like it… so I stick to the same old […]

Weekend in Ponce, Isla Caja de Muertos

Follow my blog with Bloglovin So the last few weeks were a little rough, there has been a lot on our plate and we have some big/life changing decisions to make in the imminent future. The stress was building, the walls were closing in and we needed space. So what do we do? We drove […]

The mommy diet

Today, I have been a victim of the mommy diet…. Don’t be fooled by the name, even though I have been deprived, by no means have I lost a pound or a single inch. The day starts off with good intentions; I sit down with a cup of deliciously rich, strong, black coffee and […]
